Showcasing learning
At Ponderosa, we celebrate student learning through public exhibition nights. Students create projects (a science experiment, business plan, art piece, whatever showcases their learning) and present them to families, friends, and community guests. They set up displays, give demonstrations, and answer questions about their work. It’s like a science fair meets open house, and it’s a highlight of our year.

Why do this?
Exhibitions let students take ownership of their work and practice real-world skills like public speaking and project management. Families see first-hand what their kids have accomplished and it’s rewarding for students and parents alike. Plus, these events bring our whole community together to celebrate learning.
How families can participate
Come support your learner by attending, asking questions, giving feedback, and cheering them on. We always welcome volunteers to help things run smoothly (setting up, bringing snacks, etc.) so let us know if you’re interested. Feel free to bring along grandparents, neighbors, or friends to share the experience.

Other Events
Exhibitions aren’t the only time we come together. We host Family Nights (fun parent-student evenings), Mentor Lunches (meetups to thank and hear from mentors), and Give Next Grant Ceremonies (where students award grants to local nonprofits). Each event is a chance to connect, celebrate, and build our Pinecone community.
